Windscreen Scratch Repair
Windscreen scratches are usually caused by worn windshield wipers. These kinds of scratches are not deep into the glass. The damage has been caused by windscreen wipers rubbing against the glass without much force behind them. 90% of the time windscreen wiper scratches can be buffed out and there will be hardly any trace that they were ever there to begin with. Other types of scratches can also be removed; however, this is only recommended when the damaged area is small e.g. covering your entire windshield or scratches covering all of the glass on the vehicle from years of wear and tear. This is because scratch removal requires physical labour which is charged out at $100 plus GST per hour. Once labour hours exceed 2 hours it's usually recommended that the customer purchase new glass. The average time for a windscreen scratch removal job is one hour.

How does windscreen scratch repair work?
At Maverick Auto Glass we use cerium oxide polishing to create a mechanical-chemical reaction using friction and heat to restore your vehicles glass transparency.
The correct equipment and knowledge are required to make this process work and it is very labour intensive, so DIY is definitely not advised.
