Heavy machinery requires thicker glass than the average passenger vehicle on the road. The glass is industrial-grade laminated or tempered glass to protect the operator from high-impact debris on the jobsite.

Heavy machinery glass cannot be repaired using resin. This is because of its intended purpose, to protect the operator from harmful debris on an industrial jobsite. Unlike with standard automobile glass a chip or crack repair will not restore the structural integrity of machine glass.
